The Good Death: An Exploration of Dying in America with Ann Neumann

Host Kathleen Stephenson speaks with journalist Ann Neumann about her new book, The Good Death: An Exploration of Dying in America.
In The Good Death: An Exploration of Dying in America, Neumann draws on over six years of research and hospice volunteer work to answer the question, “is it possible to have a good death?” Overwhelmed by the death of her father from non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, Neumann seeks to understand the reality of death and why so many dying people are “misunderstood, ignored, underserved, and ill informed.”
Neumann traveled to hospitals and clinics, prisons, pro-life rallies, and grief centers across the United States to discover what it means to die in America.
