A Quick Introduction From Your New Development Director
It's so good to make your digital acquaintance! I'm Becky, and I'm finishing my first week here at KBOO as the development director. I'll be working closely with the staff to cultivate all variety of relationships: partnership, sponsorship, community. It's an incredible honor to be here, and I'm excited for the future of KBOO as we take a strategic look together, as a member-supported radio station, at independent, inclusive media.

To give you a little background about myself: I've come to Portland by way of Seoul, South Korea, and moved here officially in early 2013. I didn't know much about the city or its incredible diversity of activism before moving here, but I come from years in community radio (specifically, from WVFS Tallahassee,) and stumbed upon the KBOO website as I was doing research. One of the first things I did once I landed in Portland was join a volunteer orientation. I've been a volunteer receptionist and producer here ever since!

I air a show once a month entitled The Union of Time Thieves and help to produce the Independent Publishing Resource Center Podcast (which can be found here.) I am dedicatedly passionate about the critical examination of institutions and infrastructure, specifically within the mass media. I hope to do all I can to encourage generative efforts within underserved communities and to help spread underrepresented ideas.

Speaking of ideas: have one? Want more information? My email address here is development@kboo.org. Also, keep your eyes on my blog. I'm excited to work with you all!
