Permaculture Designer Jordan Fink & Kristin Ohlson, "The Soil Will Save Us," on carbon sequestration
Traditional agriculture practices over thousands of years have led to the loss of up to 80% of the carbon from the world's soils. What have we been doing wrong? How can we foster, and benefit from, the ancient partnership between soil micro-organisms and plants?  Could changing our farming and ranching practices actually reduce atmospheric CO2 levels? Tune in to hear from Portland's Kristin Ohlson, author of The Soil Will Save Us, How Scientists, Farmers and Foodies are Healing the Soil to Save the Planet. She'll be joined by the co-founder of Portland's City Repair Project, Jordan Fink. Jordan has over 11 years of experience working in Ecological Design, Permaculture Education, and Community Facilitation, and does his design work with soil carbon in mind.  Hosted by Stephanie Potter.

Kristin will also speak at Powell's on Burnside,Thurs, March 27, at 7:30 pm.
Kailash Eocvillage will host  the 2014 Permaculture Convergence, Fri-Sun, March 28-29.
