Lockdown to block Israeli shipping company
A coalition of peace activists blockaded an Israeli ship in Tampa this weekend, including a direct action by Dezeray Lyn, who locked her neck to a parked car with a u-lock.

The action in Tampa is the latest in a series of protests known as ‘Block the Boat’.
Groups have successfully blocked or delayed Israeli ships in Oakland California, Seattle Washington, Longview Washington, and Vancouver BC.
The Tampa blockade is targeting the Israeli-owned vessel ‘Zim Savannah’, which is owned by Zim Integrated Shipping Services.

Protesters say the blockades are a pressure tactic aimed at trying to get Israel to end its occupation of Palestinian land.

Zim Integrated Shipping Services is the largest cargo shipping company in Israel.
For more on the port blockade, KBOO spoke with Dezeray Lyn, who was arrested for her action in Tampa.
