One-hour with Portland Center Stage + White Bird Dance new season!
Support the arts on KBOO by tuning into a special one-hour Stage & Studio with Dmae Roberts. First up, we feature the Tony-award-winning broadway musical and Oscar-winning "Dreamgirls" at Portland Center Stage. We'll talk with actress Antoinette Comer of Dreamgirls and Laura Faye Smith of The Typographer's Dream.We'll giveaway tickets to both "Dreamgirls" and "The Typographer's Dream" by Adam Bock which just opened. And at 11:30am, we'll talk with Paul White and Walter Jaffe of White Bird Dance about their new international lineup of dance performances starting with the Phillip Glass dance of "Diavalo" (Oct. 9-11), the Bowie-inspired Michael Clark Company(Oct.16-18) and Ballet Boyz (Nov. 11-12). We'll be offereing tickets to these shows for your KBOO membership.

Dreamgirls runs through November 2, 2014 on the Main Stage at the Gerding Theater at the Armory, 128 NW Eleventh Ave., Portland. Showtimes: 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sundays*; 2 p.m. matinees on select Saturdays and Sundays; matinees at noon on select Thursdays. *Excluding October 19, 21, 28 and November 2.  More Info: http://www.pcs.org/dreamgirls/ 

Regular tickets range from $41-74. Preview tickets start at $34. Rush tickets are $20. 
Tickets for students and those under 25 are $30. Discounts for military and groups of 10+. 
 
The Typographer's Dream runs till November 16, 2014  Showtimes: 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sundays*; 2 p.m. matinees on select Saturdays and Sundays;  matinees at noon on select Thursdays. *Excluding October 26 and November 4, 9, 11 and 16.

And in the second half of th show, we’ talk with Paul White and Walter Jaffe of White Bird Dance about their new international lineup of dance performances starting with the Phillip Glass dance of “Diavalo” (Oct. 9-11), the Bowie-inspired Michael Clark Company(Oct.16-18) and Ballet Boyz (Nov. 11-12).  For the last 17 years, they’ve brought world-class contemporary dance to Portland and collaborated with many Portland dancers. The two have worked tirelessly on White Bird as a labor of love.
