Interview w/Latoya Harris on arrest of her 9-year old daughter & aggressive policing of youth

Portland police Officer David McCarthy and Officer Matthew Huspek, who are assigned to a special police detail at New Columbia, placed a 9-year-old girl in handcuffs last May and took her to police headquarters in downtown Portland to be fingerprinted and photographed in connection with an alleged assault against another girl at a local youth club, according to their police reports.

In addition to the trauma caused her daughter by being handcuffed, placed in the back of a police car and taken to North Precinct and placed in a holding cell Latoya Harris now believes her family is being targeted by these police officers.

The two officers McCarthy and Huspek have not been disciplined or reassigned to ensure no other children are impacted by their aggressive policing practices.  Ms.  Harris wants justice for her child and to make sure no other child has to experience this aggressive policing actions
