Gardening for year-round eating and preserving the harvest with Living City

EATING FROM YOUR GARDEN YEAR ROUND - With Living City

Though summer is just starting, it's already time to be thinking about what you'll be eating next winter. On this episode of Locus Focus, Sarah Canterberry and Rachel Freifelder with Living City join us to talk about what you can plant between now and fall to feed yourself this winter. We'll also learn about how to create a a resilient food system through the ancient practice of preserving food through fermentation and drying.

Living City is a community education program based in the Cully neighborhood of Northeast Portland. They provide integrated training in year-round organic vegetable gardening, cooking, and preserving the harvest, coordinated with a unique garden transplant and seed subscription. Their mission is to help people maintain an affordable nourishing and diverse diet by growing vegetables in tune with Portland's climate.
