Joseph Gallivan interviews Dana Lynn Louis about Clearing at Lewis & Clarke College
 On Tuesday October 21, 2014, at 11.30am Joseph Gallivan interviews the artist Dana Lynn Louis about her show Clearing which is at Lewis & Clark College now through Dec 14, 2014. Louis will talk about her use of shadow and reflection, drawing on photographs, blowing glass and also about the word "clearing" in the sense of redistributing energy.

Joseph Gallivan has been a reporter since 1990. He has covered music for the London Independent, Technology for the New York Post, and arts and culture for the Portland Tribune. He is the author of two novels, "Oi, Ref!" and "England All Over" which are available on Amazon.com

Date: September 9 - December 14 PDT Location: Hoffman Gallery

In this interdisciplinary and interactive exhibition, Dana Lynn Louis will transform the Hoffman Gallery into an experiential environment that explores the varied meanings of “clearing.”
In this new body of work, viewers will enter an ethereal landscape inside and outside of the Hoffman Gallery, composed of drawings, sculpture, photography, projections, and sound.
Louis will be drawing in the gallery from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 13; Tuesday, September 16; Saturday, September 20; and Tuesday, September 23.

In a closing ceremony, Louis will burn envelopes containing wishes for clearing that are coming from all over the world. Clearing envelopes will be available in the gallery throughout the exhibition.
