Interview with Don Pyle about Trouble in the Camera Club Photo Exhibit at PMOMA Oct 3rd
Don Pyle is a Toronto musician, producer, artist and author.

His book Trouble In The Camera Club, published by ECW Press in 2011, documents his photographs and experiences of the birth of punk in Toronto from 1976 - 1980. Erin Yanke interviews him about his punk rock past and present, the queer culture of his youth, and Donna Summer, as well as his photographs and his art show that will be at the Portland Museum of Modern Art from Sept 30 - Oct 5.

In his Out-of-Focus Talking Slideshow, which will take place at Mississippi Records on October 3, 2014 at 8pm, Don Pyle gives a guided tour through photographs from his book Trouble In The Camera Club and more, looking at details in the background, things going on outside the frame and blurry asides.

Photographed by musician and producer Don Pyle (Black Heel Marks/Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet) from age 14 in the summer of 1976, Trouble In The Camera Club's photographs present a unique and rare perspective on the visually  under-documented Toronto scene. Canada’s premiere bands of the new breed – The Ugly, The Curse, Teenage Head, Viletones, Diodes, D.O.A. are shown at their earliest gigs, alongside candid moments of street scenes, friends and foreign dignitaries – including the first Toronto performances of Ramones, Dead Boys, Iggy Pop solo, Blondie, The Clash and more.
