Year End Donations and Your Taxes

**1/27/13 - UPDATE**

These errors exists only on the printed reports and are not within the underlying database. We are very sorry for the error and any confusion or concern caused by it.

No KBOO member was ever doubled charged for their donation.

Donors Set New Record for December Web Gifts

Happy New Year to everyone!  I just wanted to post quick thanks to those several dozen people who waited until the last few days of the month to make their contribution to KBOO.

As anticipated, the 31st was the biggest day of the month with just over $3000 in pledges, or over 20% of the entire month's total, which was nearly $14,000. This figures surpasses the record amount from 2010, so a huge thanks to everyone who made the last minute very exciting for us. Your donation will greatly help us operate through 2012.

Radio DOES Make You Happier - Study

Radio makes listeners happier than TV and web viewers

Yay for the Spring Membership donors and volunteers

Well, we came terribly close (95%) to reaching our financial goal for the Spring membership drive.  Thanks very much to everyone who helped out with their money, time or both to make it as successful as it was.

And if you still didn't contribute during the drive, but wanted to, know that our secure online membership form is open 24/7.

It will take us a little bit to catch up on all the paperwork, and we're aiming to begin sending out thank you gifts before Memorial Day.

URGENT - Strong push to eliminate federal funding for public media

An urgent update from the National Federation of Community Broadcasters (NFCB):

We reached our $50,000 Winter membership drive goal early Friday afternoon.

A huge round of thanks to the members, volunteers, food donors and staff who enabled us to reach our $50,000 goal over a day ahead of schedule.  This is the earliest we've ended a drive in years, so we're all really very excited about it.  If you didn't contribute yet, you can still donate here now.

About Your Taxes

The KBOO Foundation, the parent organization which exists solely to operate KBOO the radio station, is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization registered with the Internal Revenue Service.  Our tax ID number is 23-7232987.  Donors to KBOO may claim charitable deductions for those donations on their federal taxes, if you follow the appropriate steps partially described below.

170 million support public broadcasting. Do you?

While this forwarded message from NFCB speaks directly to issues facing NPR, community supported media outlets (though not KBOO directly) would also be adversely impacted by cuts in the federal budget.
