Laws on Cougars in OR

Measure 18 was passed by voters in 1994 and effectively banned the use of hounds to hunt cougars and bears in the Oregon wilderness.

House Bill 2971 could possibly change all that.

Over the holiday weekend, a group of Portlanders gathered to commemorate Martin Luther King Day by screening a film on the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans. 

Homeowners in the lower ninth ward have faced forced demolition of their homes, closure of public housing projects, and an ongoing diaspora from their homes in New Orleans.  Here's some words from filmmaker Daniel Wolff, who spoke this weekend in Portland.
