The Old Mole's Joe  Clement has been participating in the Portland Occupation's General Assembly, and he reports here about the decision to work with members of the Portland City Charter Commission to change the way we elect city officials to  Instant Run-off Elections (IRV).  IRV would enable voters to vote for a third party candidate without giving de facto support to their least favorite candidate.   Joe explains how it would work, and how the Occupation movement is engaging this issue.
