Around a hundred people gathered in downtown Portland last night to protest the recent passage of the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA.
The law includes a controversial section allowing for the indefinite detention of US citizens for suspected terrorism.
President Obama signed the bill into law on New Year’s Eve, but included a Presidential Signing Statement that he would not enforce the controversial provision.
