Portland Protests NDAA

program date:
Wed, 01/04/2012

Around a hundred people gathered in downtown Portland last night to protest the recent passage of the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA.
The law includes a controversial section allowing for the indefinite detention of US citizens for suspected terrorism.

President Obama signed the bill into law on New Year’s Eve, but included a Presidential Signing Statement that he would not enforce the controversial provision.

KBOO’s Jenka Soderberg speaks with Bao Vuong, one of the organizers of last night’s protest in Portland.
