The American Civil Liberties Union released FBI documents today showing that the bureau has been illegally using its community outreach programs to secretly collect intelligence. The memos, obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, demonstrate several instances of this practice in the San Francisco Bay Area and other parts of California.

KBOO reporter Jenn Chavez spoke with Nusrut Choudhury, an attorney with the ACLU National Security Project, about the details of their findings.
