California’s Supreme Court this morning heard arguments over a question that could ultimately determine whether same sex marriage becomes legal in California. Proposition Eight, which bans gay marriage in California, was passed by the voters in 2008. Top officials in California, including current Governor Jerry Brown and former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, have declined to defend Proposition Eight.
