To our fellow KBOO community members:

KBOO has reached an important milestone: a draft strategic plan for building a stronger, more sustainable KBOO that can meet the challenges of an ever-changing medium and provide unique, independent programming to a growing community not served by commercial radio in both traditional and new innovative ways.

The Strategic Planning Community Meeting was held in early April. At this meeting we focused our discussion on the Draft Proposal of the Strategic Plan for KBOO. This draft proposal was a result of 6 months of meetings by a Strategic Planning Work Group. This is a 12 member group comprised of a combination of Staff, Board Members, Volunteers, and Community Members who are working with consultants of PARC Resources, a firm who assists nonprofits to develop their organization goals.

We had a large attendance at the meeting. We broke out into smaller groups to try to capture community members' comments about the future of KBOO. Lots of ideas were shared and we tried to capture most of them here. (See attachment below.)

Whether or not you were able to attend our Strategic Planning Public Meeting, we really need your feedback on where KBOO should be headed for the next 40+ years.

We are pleased with the amount of feedback we recievied on the plan, and although there were some stressful moments, we are proud to continue working together to come up with a sustainable and creative future for KBOO.

Please join the Strategic Planning Committee of KBOO Community Radio on April 11th at 7pm at Tabor Space, 5441 SE Belmont, inside the Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church. We are asking for feedback on our Strategic Planning Process. We'll be sharing with you what we've accomplished so far to help ensure KBOO's future in this changing media and cultural landscape. We have been working on organizational issues, funding strategies, and developing new trainings, programming, and supporting what we have been successful at for the past 41 years while looking ahead to the future of media and broadcasting.
